Getting Involved – Applying for Positions on Authorities, Boards and
Commissions
How can residents get involved with the township? A great place to start and to learn more about your local government is to volunteer for appointment to the various Authorities, Boards and Commissions (ABC’s). These ABC’s typically work to provide support to the township operations and services.
Most Boards and Commissions are advisory to the Board of Supervisors, one exception is the Zoning Hearing Board, a quasi-judicial body. Authorities function separately from the Board of Supervisors and are not advisory. One
thing all ABC’s have in common is that the Board of Supervisors appoint the members of each one.
